NPEX: Dusk’s Regulatory Edge

Through our partnership with NPEX, Dusk gains a full suite of financial licenses at the protocol level, enabling native, compliant DeFi from issuance to trading.

These include:
:small_blue_diamond: MTF: Regulated secondary market for securities
:small_blue_diamond: Broker: Asset sourcing + best-price execution
:small_blue_diamond: ECSP: Retail investment across the EU
:small_blue_diamond: DLT-TSS (pending): Native issuance of regulated assets

What this unlocks:
:white_check_mark: Licensed dApps on a shared legal foundation
:white_check_mark: Regulated assets (MMFs, treasuries, equities) natively issued
:white_check_mark: Single KYC across the ecosystem
:white_check_mark: Legal composability across the stack

This comes to life with the NPEX dApp, a fully licensed interface for compliant asset issuance and trading, powered by DuskEVM and co-developed with financial infrastructure experts.

I appreciate the strong focus on NPEX, but I think there’s a crucial angle currently being missed that ties directly into Dusk’s horizontal integration strategy – the idea of a protocol-based infrastructure versus vertical, platform-based solutions.

It would be incredibly beneficial for Dusk to consistently emphasize that NPEX is a prime example of what anybody can build on the Dusk Protocol, illustrating this horizontal integration in action. This distinction is vital, as it prevents the impression that NPEX is somehow tightly coupled or exclusively integrated with Dusk (which I hope it isn’t!). By repeatedly highlighting NPEX as a successful application built on the protocol, it reinforces the message that the Dusk ledger is a foundational infrastructure that any regulated entity can leverage, rather than a proprietary platform with limited access. This broader narrative will truly inspire a diverse ecosystem of builders.

I believe it’s important to start getting this messaging right. I actually have more thoughts on the NPEX and Dusk relationship that I’ll save for a later discussion.
