Hedger alpha: Guide

The first version of Hedger is now live in alpha.

This early build includes the core functions of the privacy module, allowing you to test, explore, and give feedback as we keep building in public.

Hedger is designed to run on DuskEVM, Dusk’s EVM-compatible Layer 2 that settles on DuskDS (our Layer 1).

For this first testing phase, the alpha is deployed on Sepolia testnet.

:link: Getting Access & Current Functionalities

To test Hedger Alpha, you’ll first need to get access. Here’s how :backhand_index_pointing_down:

  1. Open Hedger Alpha: https://hedger.dusk.network
  2. Connect your EVM wallet (MetaMask or similar) - make sure you’re on Sepolia testnet.
  3. Create your Hedger wallet → you’ll receive a Hedger wallet address and private key.
Save your private key somewhere safe. You’ll need it to access your confidential account.
  4. Submit your wallets: submit your EVM wallet & Hedger Wallet address via the sign-up form or open a ticket in our Discord.

:gear: Once Allowlisted, You Can

  • Deposit / Shield Sepolia ETH into your Hedger wallet.
  • Send confidential transactions between Hedger wallets.(sender/receiver are visible onchain, but the amounts and balances remain hidden.)
  • Withdraw / Unshield ETH back to your EVM address.

Other functions:

  • Set Hedger Address → switch between multiple Hedger wallets if you’ve created more than one.
  • Set Contract → select a different Hedger contract (for future integrations).
  • Administration Section → for contract admins to manage allowlists. (this is visible in the alpha but will be hidden for non-admins later.)
  • Trade → will unlock in future versions.

:speech_balloon: Share Feedback

We’d really appreciate your feedback, whether it’s bugs you spot, things that could be smoother, or ideas for what we should add next.

You can share feedback through the feedback form or directly in our feedback channel on Discord.

Thank you for being part of building Dusk!

*Important Note: This is just the alpha version, expect bugs and minimal visuals. More functionality and UX improvements will roll out over time. Your feedback helps us make Hedger better with every update.
